Anthropometric Training

This skill intensive program uses anthropometric measurement equipment to teach participants the methods to obtain and document accurate, height (length and stature), weight, and head circumference measurements and conversion of measurements into MI-WIC format.

In-Person Training

In-person Anthropometric and Laboratory trainings are combined into a 1-day training with Anthro from 8:30-11:45 a.m. and Lab from 12:45-4:00 p.m.

This training provides continuing education hours for Nurses.  A Certificate of Attendance with educational hours will be provided for healthcare professionals who can self-report. For questions, contact CEInfo@mphi.org.

  • Demonstrate correct anthropometric technique.
  • Understand WHO, CDC, Prenatal and VLBW growth grids criteria.
  • Demonstrate how to obtain standard NCHS growth chart measurement values.
  • Describe how to enter measurement values into MI-WIC as a basis for risk assignment.
